An Encouraging Word From Pastor

This will be a monthly blog post done by Pastor Mike that will serve as an encouragement for any, and all, who visits our website.

“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11 KJV)

An Encouraging Word From Pastor (January 24, 2024):

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

It is the new year; and with the new year comes the common trend of new years resolution. Some resolutions involve attending the gym, and getting more fit; while some involve breaking old habits, such as smoking and drinking. I even knew of an old elementary school teacher that told us that her new years resolution for that year was to stop drinking Mountain Dew. she openly admitted that after two weeks she went to the local gas station, and guess what she bought herself? Yes, that’s right; a bottle of good ole Mountain Dew.

You get what I’m saying that right? With the new year, people want to make changes in their life. They want to do things different, be different; and possibly make big changes in their life. How about this? Why not start your walk with Jesus in the year 2024? Why not repent, and trust in Jesus Christ as your Saviour? That is definitely a big change that comes with some major big benefits; one of those benefits is the fact that heaven is the long awaited home for the child of God. I know, you’re probably thinking: “But Pastor Mike, honestly I do need to give my life to the Lord, but I’ve done so much wrong where Jesus wont save me!”

Look at the verses I posted at the beginning of this Encouraging Word post. Do you notice that it mentions all those types of people that wont get into heaven? With all those types of people mentioned, it is safe to say that everyone probably falls under one or two of those categories; which means none of us deserve heaven. Like the Bible says, “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) But notice the word I highlighted in that passages – the word “WERE.” “WERE” is passed tense, as in the people Paul was writing to USED to be under one of those condemnable categories until Jesus saved them; and some of them are definitely some bad bad categories to fall into, like thieves or the sexual immoral. But if Jesus is willing to save those kinds of people, then He has no problem saving anyone; including me or you.

Why not begin the new year right, and give your life to Jesus today?
